Australia × The Mani Peninsula, Greece

Hot girls don't use seed oils.

They use Golden Groves — single-origin, early-harvest, high-phenolic extra virgin olive oil. So fresh it's still effervescent green.

Handpicked on our family's groves at the southernmost tip of mainland Europe and cold-pressed within 48 hours. This will redefine what you thought good olive oil tastes like. Liquid gold, bottled once a year.

Our Story

The Art of Living

“The pursuit of simple pleasures is the pinnacle of human happiness.”

Olive grove overlooking the Aegean Sea on the Mani Peninsula

The Intersection of Greece & Australia

Born at the edge of Europe. Made for the Australian table.

Golden Groves begins on the Mani Peninsula — a wild, sun-drowned finger of stone and silver-leafed trees at the very bottom of mainland Greece, where the same families have tended the same groves for generations. Our Koroneiki olives are handpicked, never machined, and pressed within 48 hours of leaving the branch.

We carry that ancient world home to Australian kitchens. One harvest. One family. One uncompromising bottle.

An ode to Mediterranean living.
Koroneiki olives still effervescent green on the branch

Early October · Effervescent Green

Picked early, while the fruit is still green.

Most oil is made from olives left to over-ripen for yield. We do the opposite. Our Koroneiki olives are handpicked in early October — still effervescent green — and cold-pressed within 48 hours, before the fruit ever has the chance to dull.

It is harder, slower, and far less generous in volume. It is also the only way to lock in the polyphenols, the colour, and that signature pepper that catches the back of your throat.

“Profoundly luscious, peppery, and unmistakably verdant.”

Food Is Medicine

An ode to Mediterranean living.

In the villages of the Mani, olive oil was never a condiment — it was medicine, currency, and ceremony. We made Golden Groves to bring that philosophy to your table: to evoke nostalgic memories of long, leisurely lunches in sleepy tavernas alongside the Aegean Sea, and to make the most ordinary meal feel like the art of living.

A word on the bottle in your pantry

Most “olive oil”
is neither.

It's old. It's blended from anonymous tanks across continents, sometimes cut with seed oils, then left to oxidise on a shelf for a year or two before it ever reaches your kitchen. By the time you pour it, the good stuff is long gone.

Golden Groves is the opposite of all of that. Fresh. Single-harvest. High-phenolic. Traceable to one family's trees. Once you taste oil this alive, you can't go back — and honestly, why would you?

The Science of Liquid Gold

High-phenolic isn't a buzzword. It's a tier.

Polyphenols are the antioxidants that give great olive oil its signature peppery kick — and they're a big part of why high-phenolic EVOO is so prized. The EU's high-phenolic standard (Reg. 432/2012) sits at 250 mg/kg. Our 2025 harvest tested at 283.6 mg/kg.

Most supermarket oil doesn't come close, because polyphenols fade the longer oil sits oxidising. Ours is picked early and pressed fast precisely to lock them in.

The vibeA sad pantry afterthoughtThe thing your guests ask about

“High-phenolic EVOO” is a distinct premium tier recognised by EU Health Claim 432/2012 — reserved for oils above 250 mg/kg polyphenols. It is not the same product as the squeeze-bottle blend — and it is certainly not a seed oil.

At the Table

The pursuit of simple pleasures.

Good olive oil isn't a cooking ingredient you ration — it's a finishing flourish you reach for ten times a day. Here's where to start:

  1. Tear, dunk, repeat.Warm focaccia or sourdough into a generous pool, with flaky salt. The original hot-girl plate.
  2. Raw over everything green.Drizzle on burrata, ripe tomatoes, grilled fish — anywhere the oil is the star, not the heat.
  3. The finishing pour.Off the heat, over pasta, soup or eggs. Never fry your good oil — finish with it.
  4. The cheeky one.Burrata, a crack of pepper, the Chilli Oil. Instant upgrade.

A Note from the Grove

We started Golden Groves because we were tired of bad oil.

We grew up between two countries and one constant: a tin of real olive oil on the table, pressed by people we knew, poured over everything. When we moved to Australia we couldn't find it — just old, blended, oxidised oil in clear bottles pretending to be the real thing.

So we went back to the source — our family's groves on the Mani Peninsula. One harvest a year, picked early, pressed in 48 hours, tested for everything, sealed in dark glass. No blends. No shortcuts. No compromise. Just liquid gold, exactly as it was meant to taste.

Food is medicine. The pursuit of simple pleasures is the pinnacle of human happiness. We believe both — and we hope you taste it in every drop.

— Golden Groves & Co.

Everything you want to ask.

$25–$160 feels like a lot for olive oil. Why?
Because it's a completely different product. Most supermarket “olive oil” is blended from old, oxidised stock across many harvests and countries. Ours is single-origin, single-harvest, early-picked, cold-pressed in 48 hours, and independently tested at 283.6 mg/kg polyphenols — a genuinely different, high-phenolic tier. You're paying for one family's harvest, not a factory blend. The 3L tin works out to about $53/litre if value is your love language — and per drizzle, it's cents to make any meal taste better.
The 750ml is sold out — when is it back?
Our hero size sells out because there's only one harvest a year and we won't over-produce it. Join the waitlist on the 750ml page and you'll be first to know the moment it returns. In the meantime, the 250ml, the 3L tin, and the Essentials Set are all ready to ship — same oil, same harvest.
How does it taste? I don't want it bitter.
Profoundly luscious, peppery, and unmistakably verdant — that green, grassy, slightly spicy catch at the back of the throat is the polyphenols, and it's a good thing. It's smooth and fruity, never rancid or flat. As our customers put it, it “just screams quality” — and most tell us it ruins supermarket oil for them forever.
What about seed oils?
We're proudly anti-seed-oil. This is 100% single-origin extra virgin olive oil — nothing refined, nothing blended, nothing industrial. As we like to say: hot girls don't use seed oils.
Is it actually organic and safe?
Yes. EU Certified Organic, third-party tested with 0 pesticides detected, low acidity at 0.25%, and bottled in dark glass to prevent light damage and plastic leaching.

We ship Australia-wide, with free shipping on orders over $90. Your oil is packed to arrive safe and dark-glass intact.
