Platelet Rich Plasma

Clients have the right to know exactly what materials are being used in treatment. The effectiveness of PRP depends on the tube used, how it’s prepared and delivered into the scalp.

We use RegenLab PRP tubes, a medical-grade system specifically engineered for PRP. These specialised tubes contain a gel separator designed to isolate platelets while preserving their purity and stability. Unlike standard blood collection tubes, which are designed only for laboratory testing, RegenLab tubes are developed specifically for PRP. The result is a more consistent, higher quality PRP with a greater platelet concentration.

Why do we use the RegenLab PRP system?

The RegenLab PRP system uses a closed, sterile system with a patented gel separator that precisely isolates platelet rich plasma while minimising red blood cell contamination. This results in a more consistent, high quality PRP with higher platelet concentration and reduced risk of irritation or adverse reaction.

What does PRP help with?

PRP supports hair density, thickness, and follicle strength by improving scalp circulation and delivering growth factors directly to the follicle. It is commonly used for early to moderate thinning, excessive shedding and as a stabilising treatment to slow progression of hair loss.

How many sessions are needed?

PRP is most effective when performed as a series of sessions rather than a one-off treatment. A structured course of multiple sessions is recommended to allow cumulative follicular stimulation and biological response. The exact number depends on the severity of hair loss, individual response, and treatment goals.

When can results be expected?

Results are not immediate. While some clients notice improvements in scalp quality earlier, visible changes in hair should be expected no sooner than four months after completing the full recommended series of sessions. This timeframe aligns with the natural hair growth cycle, as follicles require time to respond, transition into growth phases, and produce measurable changes in hair.

Are there any contraindications?

PRP may not be suitable for individuals with certain blood disorders, active infections, clotting abnormalities, autoimmune conditions affecting platelet function, pregnancy, or those taking specific medications that interfere with platelet activity. Suitability is assessed prior to treatment.
